What is the Fairlight PTA?
Fairlight Parents’ and Teachers’ Association is an organisation for our school community to support the children of Fairlight Primary & Nursery School. All parents, carers and staff are automatically members of the PTA. Welcome!
What is our aim?
Our aim is to facilitate educational opportunities for the children at our school. Our primary activity is fundraising, to support our school with resources that help the education of the children. We also put on events for the enjoyment of the children and for our adults to get to know each other.
Why is the PTA a charity?
We are a registered charity, which allows us to access grants from charitable trusts on behalf of the school. Under current laws, state schools like Fairlight cannot access these funds, whilst private schools and academies can.
What do we do?
We organise Winter & Summer Fairs, and Spooky & Spring Discos. We also organise smaller events, such as dressing-up days, bric-a-brac, book and tabletop sales. We sell Festive Cards that children can design. We are hoping to start running other events for parents, such as quiz nights and pudding auctions. What events would you like?
